Recording and consent
Sidekick listens to your meetings to transcribe them and advise you. Depending on where you and the other participants are, recording or transcribing a conversation may require their consent (for example, "all-party consent" rules in several US states and some countries) or at least notice.
Practical guidance (not legal advice):
- Tell participants you are using an AI note-taker, or include it in the meeting invite.
- When in doubt, ask. Many organisations already require this for any recording tool.
- Sidekick keeps everything on your Mac; it does not publish or share transcripts.
You are responsible for compliance. Sidekick shows this reminder once, the first time you start listening.
