After that, the app updates itself from GitHub Releases. Nothing else checks in.
What first launch asks for
- An AI key. Gemini or OpenAI, or a local OpenAI-compatible server. It is the only thing asked before you start.
- Nothing more to review a past meeting. Importing a transcript needs no permission at all.
- For live listening, when you turn it on: the microphone and the meeting's audio. macOS asks for each one, and Sidekick says what it is for first.
